A short checklist for before you present, and a quick reference for what TabStage does and doesn't access.
Before you present
- Choose a template and adjust framing, padding, and background before you go live.
- Turn on the webcam only if you plan to use it — it's off by default, and Chrome only prompts for camera access after you enable it.
- In your meeting tool's share dialog, choose the TabStage Studio window, not the original source tab.
- Use presentation or fullscreen mode to hide the editing controls; press Escape to leave either one.
What TabStage accesses
The current presentation workflow keeps captured product media, webcam media, scenes, logos, and background assets local to your device. The extension itself has no backend, no account system, and no analytics.
- Captured tab pixels stay on your device. The tab stream exists only in memory while a session is live, and is released the moment it stops.
- Webcam frames stay on your device. Camera access is off by default and Chrome only prompts after you enable it.
- Scenes, logos, and backgrounds stay local. Your scenes, company logo, background images, and layout choices live in local storage and nowhere else.
- Three permissions, nothing broader. activeTab, tabCapture, and storage. No host permissions, no content scripts, no reading page content.
